Would you like to spend two weeks in a beautiful Central European city with a Mediterranean atmosphere, learning about European history and culture for academic credit?

Come join our European Studies Summer School from July 9 – 22, 2023!

During the summer school, you'll study the political, economic, cultural and social achievements and challenges of the European Union, as well as expand your knowledge on topics such as the art history, gastronomy and folk traditions of Europe. You can learn together with students from many different countries for two weeks and broaden your perspectives about the contributing factors that led to contemporary Europe, including migration, cultural diversity, gender issues. The classes will be taught by internationally renowned professors.

Who can apply: The program is open to undergraduate, graduate and PhD students

Credits offered: 6 ECTS credits

Program fee:  1050 EUR  (The program fee is 1050 EUR for individual applicants, but we can offer a reduced fee of 950 EUR per person for our partner universities)

Program fee includes:

  • cost of instruction
  • accommodation in a dormitory
  • lunch on teaching days
  • dinner when evening programs are organized
  • sightseeing, museum visits

One of the highlights of the summer school is the opportunity to make international friendships! Over the course of the program, we organize a number of social events where you can better get to know your fellow participants, including an Intercultural Evening, Quiz Night, a wine tasting program, pairing wine with traditional Hungarian meals and various team building sessions. You will also be able to experience Hungarian folk traditions by learning some of Hungary's folk dances! The region around Pécs is also famous for its thermal baths and lakes. During the program you can visit the beautiful Siklós Spa, and go kayaking on Lake Orfű.
